We are Nikkei Place
Nikkei Place is a campus of three non-profit organizations working collectively for the good of our local, national, and international Canadian and “Nikkei” (Japanese ancestry) communities.
Together, our mandates support children, new immigrants, and seniors with engaging programs, activities, events and services.

At Nikkei Place Foundation, our mission is to ensure the future of Nikkei Place.
As the charitable fundraising office for Nikkei Place, we are the bridge that connects philanthropy with Nikkei history, arts, culture, community, and senior care.
We fundraise and promote philanthropy throughout the year, and continually work to build the Nikkei Place Endowment Fund, which will ensure Nikkei Place can be self-sustaining in perpetuity.
At the Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre, our mission is to honour, preserve, and share the history and heritage of Japanese Canadians and Japanese culture in Canada.
Since September 22, 2000, our multi-use space, featuring a Japanese Canadian garden located in Burnaby, BC, has offered unique programming, exhibits, and events, as a community place open to all.
Within the museum repository we care for 3000+ objects, 52,500+ photographs, 50+ meters of textual records, 670+ oral history recordings, and 191 film reels of historically and culturally significant items.
At the Nikkei Seniors Health Cate & Housing Society, our mission is to provide supportive and independent housing, and care for seniors in our community.
We value Independence, Respect, Dignity, Privacy & Choice. These five cornerstones of adulthood are too often forgotten when the time comes to face the changes in lifestyle that are a natural part of aging.
The Society operates two residential facilities: Nikkei Home, a Supportive Housing and Assisted Living residence, and New Sakura-so, a housing complex for independent seniors aged 55 and over.
